MECAR USA has successfully performed as a systems contractor to the US government delivering various types and sizes of non-standard weapons and ammunition across the globe. MECAR USA has also been sought after as a partner by other prime contractors and was awarded multiple contracts to supply ammunition to the Afghanistan National Army and the National Police Force as well as to the Iraqi Military through USG foreign military sales contracts. Mecar USA has consistently received excellent past performance reviews for its ability to deliver non-standard weapons and ammunition to partnered US allies while exceeding all quality and delivery requirements.
Manufacturing Experience
MECAR USA is a diversified international defense firm which develops and produces conventional medium and large caliber ammunition marketed to defense departments worldwide via MECAR USA and its sister company MECAR SA. When combined, MECAR USA and MECAR SA provides an internationally networked ammunition enterprise that delivers essential supply chain management competencies – planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution (point-to-point) – required to expertly manage and synchronize the complex interactions of materials, products, processes, and information across the globe.
MECAR USA teamed with Mecar SA has been an industry partner and a leader in the US Army’s transition to the Stryker Brigade Combat Team platform through the design and production of the entire M393A3, 105mm inventory from its inception. Mecar USA alone has manufactured four out of the six production years for the M467A1, 105mm training round and continues to be the preferred manufacturer by other prime contractors and the USG. Mecar USA has also produced all but the initial production year for the M1040, 105mm Canister round for the MGS and continues to load, assemble and pack for current contracts.

- Non-standard ammunition supply: ability to harness the global ammunition supply chain to meet the ammunition needs of our coalition partners
- Load, Assemble and Pack: precision propellant loading, product assembly and packaging per the designated TDP
- Design of ammunition: interior ballistics, exterior ballistics, terminal ballistics, mechanical design, and aerodynamics
- Manufacturing technology: machining, surface treatment, explosives casting, explosives pressing, and pyrotechnic formulation
- Quality control: ISO 9001:2008, Statistical Process Control (SPC), ultrasonic testing, X-ray inspection, and mechanical testing
- Project management: internal project management and U.S. Government contract management
- Testing: gun testing, static testing, statistical analysis
- Safety: explosive safety competence and familiarity with Department of Defense (DOD) Manual 4145.26 M Contractors’ Safety for Ammunition and Explosives
- Environment: clean processing technology and water treatment; working to meet ISO 14000
